Sangamam Thaala Utsav 2026 brought India’s rich artistic traditions to life through two unforgettable days of performances, workshops and immersive cultural experiences. By bringing together classical, folk, tribal and contemporary art forms, the festival created meaningful connections between artists and audiences while making India’s cultural heritage more accessible to all.
The festival was inaugurated by renowned playback singer and actress Vasundhara Das in the presence of Mrs. Kumari Shibulal, Founder – SFPI, Mr. S. D. Shibulal, Co-founder – SFPI and Co-founder and former CEO of Infosys, and Manjula Senthil, Program Director – Sangamam. The two-day festival welcomed 4,500 visitors and featured about 161 artists, musicians, performers, and artisans from across the country. Four headline performances, including Siddharth Belmannu, Dr. Charulatha Mani, Laya Lavanya, and Thaikkudam Bridge were well received, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for thoughtfully curated cultural experiences.
Audiences also enjoyed the 8 interactive workshops which included sound healing sessions and masterclasses, 7 pop-up performances, engaging puppet installations, curated art stalls and Indian food experiences. From learning directly from master artists and exploring traditional crafts to discovering folk traditions and contemporary collaborations, every element of the festival encouraged participation, learning, and appreciation of India’s diverse cultural landscape.
Sangamam Thaala Utsav 2026 strengthened artistic communities, supported traditional artisans, inspired new audiences, and reaffirmed Sangamam’s commitment to preserving, celebrating, and reimagining India’s living cultural heritage for future generations.
