Strings Attached – A Mesmerising Evening of Melody and Mastery at Sangamam’s 15th Edition

Bengaluru, XX February 2025 – Sangamam, an initiative by The Shibulal Family Philanthropic Initiatives (SFPI), continues its mission of celebrating India’s rich artistic heritage with its 15th edition, Strings Attached. This highly anticipated event was held on 8th February 2025 at St. John’s Auditorium, Bengaluru.

This edition of Sangamam brought together two of India’s most revered classical musicians – violin maestro Vid. R. Kumaresh and veena virtuoso Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh. Accompanied by the dynamic Pramath Kiran on percussion and Sai Giridhar on mridangam, the evening promises an enchanting confluence of melody, rhythm, and artistic mastery.

Commenting on the event, Kumari Shibulal, Patron of SFPI, said, “Sangamam is a heartfelt endeavour to showcase the beauty of India’s classical and folk traditions, ensuring they continue to thrive and inspire generations. Renowned for his exceptional prowess on the violin, Vid. R. Kumaresh expressed his excitement about performing at Sangamam, stating, “Music is an ever-evolving dialogue between the artist and the audience. It was an honour to be part of Sangamam that upholds and celebrates the profound legacy of Indian classical music.”

Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh, a leading exponent of the veena, shared, “The veena and violin, two of India’s most expressive instruments, hold deep roots in our musical heritage. This concert was an opportunity to explore the synergy between them, and I enjoyed performing and sharing this journey with music lovers in Bengaluru.”

Since its inception in 2022, Sangamam has served as a platform for over 120 artists across 15 editions, fostering an appreciation for Hindustani and Carnatic classical music, classical dance, and folk-art forms. The initiative, driven by a passion for India’s diverse artistic traditions, aims to bridge the past and present, connecting audiences with the soulful expressions of the country’s cultural legacy.
